Protecting European Consumers – report by the European Commission

The European Commission released its 2017 report on the Rapid Alert System for dangerous products. The report shows that in 2017, the Rapid Alert System was increasingly used by national authorities with more than 2,000 alerts on dangerous products circulated through the system. In 2017, ‘toys’ was the most notified product category (29%). The Rapid Alert System enables quick exchange of information between 31 European countries and the European Commission about dangerous non-food products posing a risk to health and safety of consumers.
