Romania exercises its first mandate at the rotating Presidency of the Council of the European Union

During her presentation, Viorica Dăncilă, Prime Minister of Romania, focused on priorities such as cohesion, which she believed to be a common European value, and stressed the need for unity within Europe. She also acknowledged that the Romanian Presidency was one which would operate under significant time pressure, and one which would be working through important events such as Brexit, and the European Parliament elections in May.
