Development of the Future – Sustainable Agri-Food Production in Poland

On 27 October 2025, the Union of Entrepreneurs and Employers (ZPP) organised a follow-up discussion to its May conference “Growing the Future: Sustainable Agriculture in Europe”, this time with a focus on the Polish context. The event, titled “Development of the Future — Sustainable Agri-Food Production in Poland”, was held at the European Parliament Office in Warsaw.

Continuing the dialogue initiated in Brussels earlier this year, the meeting examined how to strengthen the sustainability and resilience of agri-food systems amid climate pressures, geopolitical uncertainty, and evolving consumer trends. This edition placed particular focus on Poland’s agri-food sector as a cornerstone of Europe’s sustainable food production — a topic of increasing importance in view of the country’s upcoming Presidency of the Council of the EU.

Discussions centred on practical approaches to support the sustainable growth and competitiveness of the Polish agri-food sector within the EU Single Market. Among the key themes were improved cooperation between farmers, administrations, and private stakeholders; promotion of digital and innovative solutions in agribusiness; advancement of climate-responsible production models; and the contribution of public-private partnerships to building a resilient food system.
