European Defence at the Frontier: Unmanned Systems and Strategic Readiness

On November 12th, 2025, the Union of Entrepreneurs and Employers and the European Enterprise Alliance organized the event “European Defence at the Frontier: Unmanned Systems and Strategic Readiness”, hosted by MEP Michał Dworczyk, MEP Kosma Złotowski, and MEP Rasa Juknevičienė. Europe’s security landscape is evolving rapidly, with emerging threats requiring technological advances to address them. One area of particular importance is Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS, more commonly known as drones), which have an incredible potential to strengthen Europe’s defence capabilities by providing reconnaissance, logistics support, and being pivotal for electronic warfare. Together, they will plot a course for how to support Europe’s technological and manufacturing leaders, so that they may have the legislative landscape and sufficiently strong funding required to meet Europe’s defence needs. This exchange is an essential step to ensuring that the EU-level policies accurately reflect the capabilities and potential of defence actors already operating in the field.
