The provisional agreement between Council and Parliament on the simplification of the AI Act aims to ease the compliance process for companies. The deadlines for application of rules will be delayed to allow more time for clarification, cases of overlapping requirements will limit the compliance to only one set of legislation, and SME exemptions will be extended to small mid-caps.
