Speech by President Juncker at the Plenary Session of the European Parliament ahead of the European Council meeting of 22 and 23 March

President Juncker called each of the Western Balkan partners to continue their reform path, especially when it comes to the rule of law and fundamental freedoms and values. Thanked European Parliament and the Bulgarian Presidency for leading the way in recent weeks. “The breakthrough on posted workers will ensure that fairness comes first in our labour market. As we collectively agreed: equal pay for equal work in the same place” said Jean Claude Juncker. The agreement on 5G according to the President shows that European Union is serious about digital leadership and equipping itlsef with tools for the society of tomorrow.
