Roundtable: Digital Democracy in CEE: Things to Watch For in 2024 European Parliament Elections

In light of the challenges facing Central and Easter Europe, our region has emerged as a global leader in combating misinformation and safeguarding election integrity. The region’s success in ensuring open access to the internet amidst unprecedented information attacks is a story worth sharing on the European scale in the election mega-year.

Our aim is to have a closer look on EU political content regulation on CEE member states and tell region’s story of maintaining election integrity. This roundtable aims to discuss benchmarks of effective actions by governments against foreign interference, addressing deep fakes, and sustaining internet freedom. We seek to facilitate honest and open discussions on emerging trends, regulatory perspectives and the necessity for regional coordinated efforts.
